The most famous beaches of Gran Canaria
From our point of view, the main attraction in Gran Canaria is the famous beach of dunes which
comprehends the areas of Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas. This beach is completely wild and you cannot find any kind of services, so you better carry food and drinks with you. You can reach this place
just walking from our apartment in Playa del Ingles. Would you like to make a walking in the desert and finally bath in the ocean? Here you can do it!
Beaches with light sand in Gran Canaria
If you wish a light-blue coloured sea with all kinds of comfort and services, you can spend a day in the
beautiful beach of Anfi del Mar or Amadores. These beaches have the lightest sand on the island. Those places are about 15 minutes far driving from our flat in Playa del Inglés. If you go to Anfi del Mar, we advice you to take a small walking in the beach next to Anfi which is called Patalavaca although here you will find a darker sand, we think it’s special. We also recommend them in case you have children as the place is never windy and the sea is always calm. It really worths to go to visit them!
Las Canteras, a spectacular cosmopolitan beach in Gran Canaria
Would you like to see and spend a day in the best beach located in the heart of city? If your answer is
yes you are welcome to Las Canteras, the beach of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It’s about 4 kms
long and here you can find everything, you can surf, you can walk or just relax. There is also a nice area
for children located in the north end called La Puntilla.
A bright black sand beach: San Agustín
Would you like to try a beach with black sand? We advice a beautiful one located in San Agustin a
small village just 10 minutes driving far from your flat. If you go there you can’t miss to have a lunch in a wonderful sea food restaurant called El Balcon de San Agustin where you can eat and enjoy the amazing view over the ocean. If you decide to go there make a reservation because it’s not easy to find a table.
Not only beaches in Gran Canaria: visit the amazing countryside!
Villages on the top of the island
Gran Canaria is not only sea and beaches! If you would like to spend a day visiting the internal part of the island, you can’t miss to go to the small but really amazing villages of Teror, Tejeda and
Artenara. The street is a bit narrow as it’s full of curves but you have to consider that you are going to drive up to a mountain nearly 2000 meters high! Did you know that Tejeda is located inside of a
Perfect places for hiking in Gran Canaria
If you like hiking, is highly recommended the rute of Roque Nublo where you can enjoy one of the most
spectacular panorama that you have ever had! Another nice walking rute is called El Alamo and you can join it in Teror village. El Alamo rute is recommended for families.
Beautiful theme parks in Gran Canaria
Why not to visit one of the biggest aquarium of Europe? In Las Palmas you can do it! Come to
enjoy Poema del Mar aquarium, I’m sure you will really like it!
Would you like to take your kids to a wonderful zoo? In Gran Canaria we have two! They are called
Cocodrilo Park and Palmitos Park. Or maybe you would like to spend a day in a pool with slides? You
can choose between Aqualand Maspalomas or Lago Taurito Water Park. The second one is highly
recommended for children.
Finally if you wish to enter in a western film, don’t miss Sioux City Park!
